This refers to the enterprise-wide administration of distributed computer systems. It is strongly influenced by network management initiatives in telecommunications. Many of our projects automatically involve some form of management process, but for a detailed analysis on this area of service, please feel free to read on.

In Depth
Fault management includes maintaining and examining error logs, accepting and acting on error detection notifications, tracing and identifying faults, carrying out sequences of diagnostics tests, correcting faults, reporting error conditions, and localizing and tracing faults by examining and manipulating database information.

Configuration management (CM) is a field of management that focuses on establishing and maintaining consistency of a product’s performance and its functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life.

Performance management helps organizations achieve their strategic goals. Rather than discarding the data accessibility previous systems fostered, performance management harnesses it to help ensure that an organization’s data works in service to organizational goals to provide information that is actually useful in achieving them.

Security Management is related to asset management, physical security and human resource safety functions. It entails the identification of an organization’s information assets and the development, documentation and implementation of policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.

The Setup
Typically, many of our projects are set up by our team on distributed servers. These systems include tools for detailed logging and analysis, and allow us quick access to diagnostics for identifying errors for a specific problem. As with any job, the level of management is dependent on specific factors, and is shaped by the client’s needs.
